Tory is a certified Structural Integration Practitioner through The Equine Natural Movement School, having completed 440 hours of case study and coursework. She is also a certified Large Animal Massage Practitioner. She has completed additional coursework through Equinology and The Northwest School of Animal Massage focusing on anatomy, equine movement and rehabilitation, and meridians and fascial lines. Tory also holds a Masters in Education.
Tory lives in Ojai, CA with her husband, her two horses, three dogs, and chicken. As an educator, Tory endeavors to teach people the power of intention to strengthen the horse and human bond. Through equine bodywork, Tory seeks to balance the horse so that he can move in a concert of precision, responsiveness, relaxation, and comfort.
What is Structural Integration?
Also known as “Rolfing”, Structural Integration (SI) is a systematic unwinding of deep core holdings in the fascial (connective tissue) network. When fascia can glide freely, the effects of injury, gravity, and poor movement patterns are diminished. The foundational session works the entire superficial (outermost) fascial network across the horse’s entire body. This session can stand alone, however Structural Integration is most thorough when completed as a series of 5 sessions strategically timed over ten to twelve weeks. This successive session approach allows access to the deepest core holding patterns, further freeing restraints.
How does Structural Integration differ from other bodywork modalities?
Massage and myofascial modalities target muscles with goals of relaxation, suppleness and improved response/reaction. You can think of this work as more 2-dimensional, meaning this works the planes of the horse, whereas Structural Integration is more 3-dimensional and allows work throughout the deep body with an aim of long-term change in the horse’s structure and movement.
Tory’s practice is guided by asking:
“How does this horse accommodate for imbalances and what does that tell us about his strengths?” & “How can this horse be brought into the highest expression of himself?”
Tory’s goal for each horse?
Improved fluidity, ease, balance and comfort.
Services
$150 / 90 minute appointment
The foundational structural integration session works to release the superficial (outermost) fascia across your horse’s entire body. This session will begin to map the core holding patterns in your horse to bring greater ease of movement and balance. This type of session can stand alone in order to provide regular maintenance to the fascial network.
Foundational SI Session
The 5-Series
$700 / Five sessions scheduled over 10-12 weeks-time
A full Structural Integration series consists of 5 sessions for the average horse: The foundational session (1), shoulders, hips & limbs session (2), barrel & back session (3), followed by two custom sessions based on findings. These sessions are spaced out over ten to twelve weeks, with more time being given between later sessions as the work gets deeper so that the horse has ample time to integrate their new mobility in between sessions. (Five 90-minute appointments scheduled strategically typically over 10 to12 weeks' time.)
$765 / Bimonthly Foundational SI sessions for 1 year (15% discount)
$1440 / Monthly Foundational SI sessions for 1 year (20% discount)
For existing clients who Tory knows well, a subscription service allows for preferred scheduling on a determined day each month or every other month…a “set it and forget it” approach. This is a reliable way to stay on Tory’s schedule on a day that works for you and also receive discounts on sessions for six or twelve 90 minute appointments.
Subscriptions also available for 60 minute massage sessions:
$510 / Bimonthly for 1 year (15% discount) $960 / Monthly for 1 year (20% discount)
SI Session Subscription
$100 / 60 minute appointment
Ideal as maintenance for any horse during times of increased stress on the body, or split for pre & post competition. Massage work increases circulation, improves muscle texture and response, and promotes relaxation. Dependent on horse’s response, Tory may also investigate fascial meridians and trigger release points to promote rebalancing.
